HB Torana : The HB Torana arrived in May1967. Powered by a 1200 cc engine, it struggled to beat buses and semitrailers off at the lights although later in Brabham Torana form it was actually quite nippy. The best thing to do with a standard HB engine is to attach a chain to it, drop it in to the water and fasten a mooring buoy to the other end of the Chain Then you stuff a big engine in to the empty space in the car. There has been a 454 cubic inches Chev V8 in the front of a HB Torana before. (or rather, it was half in and half way out) Showing one of those to the registration authorities might cause them to fall about laughing. All early HB's are two-door sedans, but from the release of the HB II in September l968 a four door was also offered. If you are considering a serious re-power, two door bodies are stronger than four-door.
