Visual Difference's from Commodore to Commodore Model

 OpelSenator/Monza to Holden Commodore VB
European engine changed to local engine from the Kingswood. Dropped IRS (simple) No hatchback or convertible versions.Strenghting of car to handle Australian roads. Changes in Euro version's of the 'commodore'(senator) reflected back to the Australian Commodore throughout it's (Senator) model life. VT follows its replacement, the Opel Omega.

VB to VC
Slate grills for VB, Crate grill on VC, front grill moved from bonnet on the VB to the grill on the VC. Tailights changed from 'Red' plastic surrounds to 'Black' plastic surroungs. Red engines carried over from the Kingswood, Blue engines (4 cycl, 6 cycl, 8 cycl) in the VC

VC to VH
Different grill on VH again, similiar look to VB grill. different headlights used on VH from VB/VC, they are more pointy at the ends. changed taillights from VC to VH, removed the chrome from the VH and replaced it with a large taillight. Taillight extensions on the SL/E model,SL/E VH had rear seat headrests where the VC did not.. Blue engines (4 cycl, 6 cycl, 8 cycl)

VH to VK
completely different bumpers, plastic all around instead of the chrome bumpers on the previous models. same headlights as VH but different grill again. bonnet also lipped over slightly to give a more rounded look. added 'sixth' window in the C pillar. SL/E and SL/X replaced with Calais and Berlina.On the VK an EFI 202 became an option.VK were Black engines (6 cycl, 6 cycl EFI, 8 cycl)

VK to VL
different all around, bumpers are similiar but headlights, bonnet (now square) and boot (slight aero lip) different..VL introduced the Nissan 3l 6cycle and the Turbo version. Black 5litre v8's were regarded as the worst 5l beause of the introduction of Unleaded. HSV/Holden/TWR also developed the VL SS Group A with the first Holden EFI V8.

VL to VN
similiar chasis but body is replaced with a larger one. Different engine again, the v6 buick, and finally the introduction of the EFI 5L v8 into the mainstream model.

VN to VP
Different Grill from VN, rear sight height stop light.Side Side panel indicators added to VP Back panel between taillights red on VP, grey or black and different shape on VN 2 number plate lights on underside of lip on VP, 1 light facing upwards on VN (running changes to the VN meant some of the later VN's had VP bits on them, including the reviesed v6 buick)

VP to VR
more then 80% of the body was changed, including a bonet that folded over the headlights, different tail light setup. revised dash, same centre console and centre controls as VN/VP

VR to VS
Minor changes, ECOTEC badge on the v6 badge. Return of forced induction to the commodore (after the VL Turbo) with the supercharged v6 commodore.

VS to VT
Complete redesign, based on the Opel Omega, engine (v6 is same from VS), Series 2 VT dropped the aussie 5L v8 for a Chev v8 5.7L

VT to VX
'Tear' drops on headlights, different tail light assemly. Increased differentation between Excutive and higher spec models like the Berlina and Calais with different headlight and taillight assemblies.
