Holden Commodore / Calais - VP Series October 1991 - July 1993

Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) was introduced with the VP, and it was standard on Calais and Commodore SS. The IRS was adapted from the long wheelbase VQ. A security system was standard on all models, and it featured automatic ignition disable, ECM disable, and door key activated deadlocks. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) was introduced in August 1992, and was an option on cars with a V8 and IRS. For the Series II, it was an option on all cars.
